SAGA North House in Tahoe

SAGA North is renting a house for our Tahoe trips. Our house is located in the Tahoe Vista area of Kings Beach, on the north shore of Lake Tahoe, about 15 minutes to Northstar, 25 to 30 minutes to Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, and 45 to 55 minutes to Heavenly. This makes it feasible to have trips to Heavenly from the same house as we do North Shore resorts.

The house features WiFi access to the internet, and a hot tub. The full kitchen, living room and dining area will be perfect for our Saturday night dinner parties.

If all of us carpool to Tahoe, there is plenty of space for cars. There is room for six to seven cars on the driveway. For weekend trips, trip leaders will be in contact with the participants to encourage carpooling.

Shared Lodging

Our Tahoe weekend packages include accommodation on Friday and Saturday nights, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, a Saturday night dinner party.

The house may also be rented for midweek nights at $25/night per person. This only includes lodging. See the details below.

Bedrooms

• Bedroom 1 - king bed - single occ. or shared may be used by one person as a single occupancy (for $50 extra) or two friends who sign up together. There is a full bathroom, which may be shared with other housemates during the day.
• Bedroom 2 - double bed - single occ. may be used by one person, who purchases a single occupancy. There is a full bathroom, which will be shared with other housemates.
• Bedroom 3 - two sets of bunkbeds - economy class will be used by up to four people. Go through kitchen to access. Use either the half bath or share one of the full baths off one of the other bedrooms.
• Bedroom 4 - two sets of bunkbeds - economy class will be used by up to four people. Go through kitchen to access. Use either the half bath or share one of the full baths off one of the other bedrooms.
• Bedroom 5 - double bed in loft - economy class will be used for overflow, as needed. Low ceiling. Initially, it will not be open for sign-ups. Use either the half bath or share one of the full baths off one of the other bedrooms.

During our Tahoe season, it is possible for SAGA North members to stay at the SAGA North house on mid-week nights for $25 per person per night. The nights are Sunday though Thursday nights from January 8 to March 20. The Thursday and Sunday nights are especially popular for extending the weekend trips. The calendar on the right shows which nights are open.

How to sign up

The midweek nights at the Tahoe House can be found in Step 3 of the sign-up pages. Most nights should be available, but more may be opened up later.

When using the SAGA North house, we ask all persons to keep the house in good condition. Although we are not asking for a security deposit, if there is any damage we will hold those using the house responsible.

• You may bring friends, but only if they are current members of SAGA North.
• Remove all shoes and boots at the front door when entering (bring slippers).
• No pets allowed.
• No smoking inside the building.
• At departure, wash all pots/pans, run the diswasher for all eating utensils, and take out the trash.
• Further instructions for opening and closing the house will be provided.
