Yosemite Camping/Hiking

May 15 - 17, 2009 (Closed)

The waterfalls will be flowing and the flowers will be blooming. This will be a spectacular time to visit Yosemite.

We will stay in rented tent cabins at Curry Village. This is the ideal location for those who like to camp outdoors without the bother of setting up a tent.

Snacks and drinks in the evening will be provided. Camp fires are not allowed at Camp Curry, so meals are not included in the price. Curry Village has an inexpensive cafeteria and a pizza restaurant. There are other restaurants in other parts of the valley.

Here is the plan:

  • Friday Hiking or biking around the valley for early arrivers duing the afternoon.
Drinks and snacks will be served at dusk near our tent cabins followed by dinner in one of the restaurants.
  • Saturday Breakfast at the Curry Village Cafeteria.    There will be organized group hiking. The group may choose one of several options, such as hike from the valley floor to Nevada Falls or Yosemite Falls, take a bus to Glacier Point and hiking down, or drive over to Tuolumne Meadows for a hike in that area.
Drinks and snacks at dusk, followed by dinner in the cafeteria or pizza restaurant.
  • Sunday We will pack up in the morning.    Many of us will head over the Ahwahnee Hotel for Sunday Brunch.
After brunch, some may go on a short hike in the afternoon. Some favorites are the redwood groves in the park and hiking trails at Hetch-Hetchy.
