March 7 - 9, 2008
Come join us in SAGA's return to Squaw Valley, one of the best Lake
Tahoe ski resorts. Squaw Valley is legendary for some of the
steepest terrain and deepest snow-fall in North America. This
one-of-a-kind winter play-ground boasts 4,000 acres of lift-served
ski terrain including 16 bowls, and 100+ runs spanning six peaks.
The big news this season is that the popular Shirley Lake Express
chair, covering more than 5 runs for intermediate skiers/boarders,
will be replaced with a high-capacity six-pac express lift to
minimize lift lines. Squaw's diverse terrain and excellent network
of 34 lifts (including four high-speed detachable 6-pacs, three
high-speed quads, a funitel and a cable car), combine to make Squaw
the perfect Tahoe winter ski resort as Squaw can definitely handle
the weekend skiers.
Squaw offers something for everyone; from double-black diamond runs
for the expert skier/boarder, long blue groomed runs for the
intermediate skier/boarder & advanced beginner, and many green runs
for the beginner skier. For snowboarders, there are three terrain
parks, one super-pipe and one standard half-pipe.
SAGA will be staying at the Granlibakken resort near Tahoe City,
which is conveniently located south of Squaw Valley. Granlibakken
Resort, in a picturesque wooded mountain valley, is just minutes away
from Lake Tahoe. We will stay in 3-bedroom, 3-bath plus loft
town-houses. The units are cozy, with a fireplace in the living room.
Individuals will have their own twin beds, while couples will be
provided with king-size beds.

Granlibakken's restaurant will provide a
complimentary hearty full hot-breakfast buffet, featuring fresh
fruit, homemade muffins, quiches, blintzes, eggs, and the daily
chef's special, plus all the accompaniments. Granlibakken even offers
free scheduled shuttles to and from Squaw in case you don't want to
move your vehicle once you arrive. If you need to stay connected,
Granlibakken offers free wireless internet access in the public
areas.
Our Squaw trip will start with a meet & greet cocktail party Friday
night, including Randy's potstickers and David's wine selections.
Later Friday evening, be sure to plan on David's homemade lasagna.
After skiing on Saturday, use the nearby heated outdoor pool, hot tub
and sauna to relax. Saturday evening, we will gather for another
cocktail party as we catch up after our day on the slopes at Squaw.
Later in the evening, look forward to a sumptuous in-condo dinner
made by your trip leaders and a few talented helpers.
