Kickoff Social    Skier

Sunday, October 14, 2007 6:00 - 8:30 pm Fort Mason Center Room C-190

The October Social is the starting point of the new season, and one of the most important events. Talk to the trip leaders, sign up for trips in person, and find out about what the club is doing this year. It's primarily a social event where you can meet many of the SAGA North members, but we will feature special presentations too.

Special Guests

A Northstar-at-Tahoe representative will talk about the recent mountain improvements at both the Northstar-at-Tahoe and the Sierra-at-Tahoe ski resorts and also village improvement in the case of Northstar. Last year, Northstar added the new high-speed six-pac Tahoe Zephyr lift opening lots of new terrain for intermediate skiers and now there are plans to extend the Lookout lift from 3200 ft to 4800 ft to offer 46 more acres of advanced terrain for advanced and expert skiers.

A Gold’s Gym (SOMA) trainer will demonstrate lower body exercises for strength & agility to help improve your skiing and snowboarding ability. Corey Dean, a former professional hockey player, specializes in resistance training, plyometrics, and core & balance training. Be sure to come to the meeting and learn a way to improve your skiing and snowboarding through exercises at the gym. Corey Dean is also bringing some give-aways and discounts — these are mentioned in other parts of this page.
