Fort Mason Center, Room C-362
Welcome to all SAGA North members and potential members. This is the second social of the season. It is an opportunity to meet the SAGA members, talk to trip leaders, and learn all about SAGA North and the events we have planned.
Pot Luck Dinner
This social will be a pot luck dinner. Please bring a salad, casserole, stew, entree, or even a dessert, to share with a few others. Show off your cooking skills, a special dish from your favorite restaurant, or just grab something from your grocer's deli counter -- it's all good fun.
Don't forget to RSVP and let us know what you are bringing or ask what others have already promised to bring. (It's ok if you don't RSVP or you wait until the last minute, but an RSVP helps us plan better.)
Prizes and Discounts!
We will have drawings to give away several prizes:
Gold's Gym will continue their offer of new memberships without the enrollment fee at the SOMA Gym, and will give special discounts packages for trainer sessions to those enrolling.
Mountain West, will also offer discount coupons to SAGA members and everyone who attend the November meeting.
For more information on these special discounts, please see November Social Special Discounts
We're meeting from 6:00pm to 8:30, Fort Mason Center, Building C, Room 362 on the 3rd floor. Drinks will be provided. Please bring a potluck dish to share.
Enter Fort Mason Center through the yacht club parking lot at Marina Blvd. and Buchanan St., across from the Marina Safeway. Approach from the east on Bay Street, and from the west on Doyle Drive.
Building C is the third building from the left of the entrance of Fort Mason Center.
Our overnight trips have Early Bird discounts. Many of the discounts will expire a few days after this social. This is your last chance to sign up for a trip in person and save some money. Trip leaders will be here to answer questions about their trips.
We have two special guests scheduled to give presentations during the November Social.
A Gold's Gym (SOMA) group exercise class instructor will demonstrate routines to help improve your endurance and core strength for skiing and snowboard this upcoming winter. Troy Markle is a former national aerobics champion and the artistic director at Gold's Gym (SOMA), who also teaches various classes including those for aerobics (step), legs/glutes, and abs. You can see Troy's website at www.troyproductions.com
Arturo Beyeler, one of the top technicians from Mountain West, a local SF ski & snowboard shop since 2001, comes to the SAGA North's November Social armed with lots of info on the latest ski and snowboard equipment, pointers on how to select and fit your next pair of boots, along with valuable advice on ski & snowboard maintenance and safety (think helmets).
There will be more highlights on
Most of the equipment sold at Mountain West has already been demoed by their staff. Mountain West, at 290 Division St. Suite 101, San Francisco, (www.mountainwestonline.com) is a mid-to-high end shop specializing only in ski and snowboard equipment, and offers personalized service (particularly boot fitting for those hard-to-fit feet). Mountain West's expert sales and service staff have over 36 years of combined experience working in the snow sports industry.
