Feb 11-13, 2006

Do you yearn for a ski resort which is less crowded, even on the weekends, and yet offers challenging runs for all levels of skiers? A resort where at the end of the day, you can return from the cold, check in to a four star hotel, plunge into the spa’s hot tubs, and then after a fine meal, surround yourself with the warmth of blackjack, craps, and slot machines? Then this is your lucky day!

After a several year hiatus, this winter SAGA will be returning to the Reno area for a three day-two night ski trip.

Mt Rose ski area is located a mere 25 minutes from downtown Reno and boasts the highest base lodge in the Sierras at 7900 ft, and a summit at 9700 ft, giving us an 1800 ft vertical. That high altitude translates into the lightest, driest snow in the Sierras, due to the fact that most of the moisture and wetter snow is dumped in the more westerly part of the Sierras as the storm fronts move eastward. Mt. Rose added a new high speed six-pack lift on their eastern bowl, providing quicker access to mostly intermediate and advanced slopes, and opened up their northeastern facing expert train called “the Chutes” last season. Homewood is on the western side of Lake Tahoe, boasts a 1650 vertical, some of the most awesome views of Lake Tahoe, and a great variety of un-crowded runs. We have space for 22 skiers!
